The East Butler Public School Board is considering a facility enhancement, which includes the addition of a new weight room facility, band room, and competition gym.
Estimated cost of this project is $14.5 Million. This dollar amount includes design costs and possible contingencies.
The project would be funded through the school's special building fund. The district would not have to raise the tax request of this fund as the current levy structure accounts for the expenditure of this project.
Currently, the district has partnered with Boyd Jones Construction and BCDM architect and are working through the bidding process. As part of this process, Boyd Jones will determine a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) based off of the bids received. This means that the project will not cost above the amount that is agreed upon by Boyd Jones and the East Butler School Board.
The school board intends to consider the approval of an early bid package in April of 2026.
